Iron Kid Ministries/Wish 2 Enrich, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to enrich the lives of children through in-school and community programs. The organization provides scholarships and grants so that children with a family hardship can participate in sports, art, music, or any other enrichment/extracurricular program they are interested in. Through the "Coaches Count" initiative, we also provide grants and other resources to support the positive work coaches do in schools and the community.
Iron Kid Ministries was formed in 2012 by Zach White, after several years of running a successful early childhood enrichment program called Soccer Shots in Birmingham, AL. Zach learned that many young children who would benefit from his enrichment program and others, were unable to participate due to various hardships. Zach and his team began to think of ways to offer scholarships and programs to these children, based on recommendations from teachers, daycare directors, principles and even the parents themselves.
This desire to fill a need for children transitioned into the Wish 2 Enrich organization, which not only strives to continue providing scholarships for these soccer programs, but also invests in the lives of children wishing to participate in other sports, art, music, dance, chess, gymnastics, computer, martial arts and other enrichment activities.
In 2018, the Board of Directors decided to change the DBA name to Iron Kid Ministries.
In 2023 we are launching our "Coaches Count" initiative to help support the great work coaches do in the schools and the community.
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. - Philipians 2:3-4
